so, yes.

another question for you,

if you could create a website, what would be on it?

it can be fantasy, or real life

Interesting question.
I am thinking about a few websites. One of them if i could do it would be a similar version of the zone but in Greek for my friends who can't speak English to chat.
Also a website with the birds of Cyprus with descriptions and sounds because nobody else did such a website about Cyprus birds.
Maybe a podcast or an internet radio as well.

I can't imagine coming up with a new idea that hasn't already been thought of.

If I had a website I'd make it personal with a biography, links to other resources for the blind, a guestbook, favorite links section, and lots more!

If I had my own website, it would have a short autobiography about me and some categorized pages of links related to my interests as well as a page of general resources for people with various disabilities. It would also have a Guestbook.

I own 3 websites. These took well over 3 years to make and I'm still working on all threee. Right now I'm working on a navigation strip for those who prefer no frames when they enter my website. It looks tacky with the frames but when not in the frame I can definately see why.

If I had to build another, I'd say build one about access technology.

See my profile for a list of websites I own and currently working on.

Two web hosts I know of that you can build websites. I'll break it down.

Angelfire
Has it all: FTP, Image hosting, HTML libraries, games, templates (incase you have no knowledge of html), advance page builders for those who can write their own code..... Downside: Free Accounts have 2 pop up ads, and 2 flash ads. Paid accounts get more, although I'm having problems trying to purchase my account. But you get a shit load of space with Angelfire. I have 3 websites connected to one account, loads of files that eat up space. My only suggestion is to get a Photobucket account so that you can remotely host your images. Angelfire no longer allows people to do image forwarding (using the image tag).

EXPage
This is great if you only want one page. Again, free and paid accounts. No FTP access though.

Other ideas in the past to promote radio shows:
Build profiles on websites that accept this kind of thing. MySpace, Yahoo, and MSN Groups are all great. You just gotta look around a bit.

Good luck to all who might or are thinking of building websites! I was in your shoes when I first started building pages 6 years ago. So I hope the info I provided is of some use.

I have also created my own web site, I use FreeWebs, which you can add as many pages as you want, music, pictures, links, all sorts of stuff. You can get it for free but it comes with adds. Overall it is a great site. You can go to
www.freewebs.com
and check it out.
Also, I use
www.proboards.com
You can create a forum, have chat rooms etc.
I've had a hard time keeping my sites entertaining however, so it is time to come up with plan B. lol.

Hmm. If I were to create my own website, I'd put a biography, different resources, access technology websites, a guestbook, favorite links or sites, etc.

If I had my own website, I'd write lots of things on it. I'd put some songs on it and videos films for people to hear or download if they want. It'd also have ... helpful pages like jaws or window eyes, information about different products and maybe a few other things like games.

Freewebhosting360.com is very good and has NO ads. It's great.

Where do you all get your domain names from? I know I can use freewebs as my host, but what about a free domain name?

Post 19 by robbiec12345 (Good night and Farewell ) on Friday, 09-Oct-2009 12:04:43

I'm not sure about domain names. But if I could create my own site, i'd create one which is a cross between the zone, blinknation and blind planet with a load of my ideas thrown in for good measure. Unfortunately, I doubt this would ever happen because I don't have the technical knowhow nor the money to create such a site. But I can at least dream of it.
